There are 350 - 400 new spinal cord injuries every year in Ontario (approx. one per day). Please help us in our commitment to provide services and support during every step of recovery.

“You can do what ever you set your mind to. Staying positive is half the battle, it is also important to surround yourself with people who care.” -Josh Dvorkin, CPA Member

Thank you for supporting CPA Ontario. We have been supporting individuals with a spinal cord injury since 1945. In giving to CPA Ontario, you help continue our vital peer support, counseling, information, and advocacy programs.

Opening Doors Plan

Every day, someone in Ontario needs our support. Whether they’re newly injured and meeting with our Peer Support team for the first time while in hospital, or contacting our Resource Information Coordinator who responded to over 1,200 calls last year, looking for answers to questions about wheelchair accessibility, local services, travel and more.

By joining our Opening Doors Plan as a monthly donor, your support will have a positive and lasting impact on people living with a spinal cord injury or other physical disability.

The Opening Doors Plan - It’s easy, convenient, flexible and rewarding. Whether you prefer to use your credit card (online) or automatic withdrawals from your bank account (through our office), you can increase, decrease or stop your donations at any time. You will receive a single, consolidated tax receipt for your monthly donations each year in January. You will receive regular updates and information on us throughout the year, including mention in and a copy of our annual report.

Leave a Legacy

CPA Ontario has been supporting individuals with a SCI for more than 60 years to help them achieve independence, self-reliance and full community participation. People can and do make a positive adjustment to life with a SCI given the right support at the right time. That’s where CPA Ontario steps in, and where your support can make a difference. There are a number of ways you can leave a future gift to CPA Ontario. Here are just a few examples:

  • Leave a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your assets
  • Use assets for your charitable gift such as cash, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, term deposits and real estate
  • Name CPA Ontario as the beneficiary of an existing, new or paid-up life insurance policy
  • Remember loved ones with a tribute gift
  • With just a few words in your Will, you can make a huge and lasting difference in the lives of people with a SCI.

“I give and bequeath to Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario, situated in Toronto, ON, the sum of _______ dollars (or percent, or all of the rest and residue of my estate or a specific property, security, or asset) to be used for such programs and services as the Board of Directors of Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario shall determine.”

Wills offer many donors a way to make a gift which might not have been possible during their lifetime. Your Will can reaffirm your commitment to our goals.

Please consult a lawyer and speak with your financial advisor when drafting or updating your Will.
