Sudbury Accessible Sports Council: Uniting Sport and Disability Organizations across Sudbury.
We know based on research that it is important for everyone to be active and people with disabilities are no different. “Research shows that less than three percent of Canadians with a physical disability regularly participate in organized sport (P.30 Parasport Ontario Magazine).” We need to increase the number of active people in our community regardless of ability. The Sudbury Accessible Sports Council is making best efforts to increase that number, which will make our city healthier and more inclusive: uniting disability organizations across the city that provide sport and active living opportunities for people with physical disabilities, to share resources, collaborate in program planning and delivery, and create a stronger unified voice for athletes with a disability in Sudbury.
