A deep-seated resilience is inherent within the human spirit, and it can soar beyond all expectations as soon as the call from a dream sets it free.

Just ask downhill skiers Nicky Asam, 11, and Quinn Currie, 12, members of the No Limits Ski Club at Searchmont Resort's snow school. Both are passionate about pumping adrenaline with each run.

Inspiration is at the heart of any dream, and there is no shortage of it when the pair hits the slopes at Searchmont as family, friends, mentors and even strangers are just as enthusiastic.

Both boys have disabilities that pale in comparison to the remarkable determination they possess. Their very presence on the hill reveals what it means to challenge barriers, beat the odds and level out the playing field.

Cerebral palsy doesn't damper Nicky's excitement as he waits his turn.

Once strapped into his sit-ski, it's "Rip it up and turn and burn," he says as he and his instructor head for the lift. On the day of his interview at Searchmont, Nicky was accompanied by Brad Gilmore, one of the volunteers on duty.
