Date: Thursday, July 31, 2008 Time: 6:30 pm -- 8:00 pm
Location: Patient Cafeteria, Lyndhurst Centre, 520 Sutherland Dr., Toronto, ON, M4G 3V9Peer Connection Seminar: Home Renovations If you have puzzled about the following questions, this is the seminar for you.
-Where can I get financial assistance? -Are there options which don’t make my home look institutional? Having a disability and especially using a mobility device generally requires that you live in accessible surroundings. We don’t have very much control of public, private or outdoor spaces, but we can choose where we live and how accessible our homes are. Although there are many building codes and standards to help guide you and a contractor in modifying your home, everyone’s needs and abilities are different. Our home modification session permits you to meet either an expert in adaptive design or an organization that funds modifications for those who are financially challenged. Peer Connections is also a great opportunity to meet individuals who have already modified their homes, with whom you can talk and ask questions to better understand your options.
