SCI Pain and Quality of Life: New Research Initiatives

This seminar will explain the impetus for launching these pain studies, coming from the identification of chronic SCI-related pain as one of the key continuing obstacles to quality of life for people with SCI, well after discharge from rehabilitation. A consensus process for prioritizing pain study topics will be described which included researchers, clinicians, physicians, SCI consumers, and research funders. A brief overview will then be given of projects completed, in progress, and in future plans.
