Videos

Videos for this site are physically hosted elsewhere (youtube, google, etc.) but are well integrated into the site so that most of the time they appear to be hosted here.

To add a new video to the site:

1. Create the video if it doesn't already exist.

2. Upload it to a video sharing site like youtube.

3. Copy the url of the video. Create a new node on this site of type 'video', and put that url in the appropriate field. The video will now display on the video listing page and may appear on the front of the site if the rest of the publish values are set appropriately.

Note that the video sharing site will offer you some 'embedded html' for linking/displaying - you can ignore this, since it's generated by the drupal module. The only time you may want to use this is if you are creating a node that isn't a video, but you still want to include a video. In this case, you can copy and past the embedded html into the html of your node. Most of the time, you don't want to do this - if you find yourself wanting to do this too much, let's figure out a system.
