Basic Quickstart
You're looking at the CPA Ontario website. What next?
You can browse through a great deal of public content without any help, but if you want to access non-public content or add content via the forum and comments, then you'll need to create and use your own account for this website.
Create Your Own Account
If you don't already have an account, click on the Register link at the top right hand corner of the screen and follow the instructions. You'll need to provide some basic information about yourself and your email that you access. If you don't have an email address, get one first. After registering, you'll need to check your email to get a confirmation link.
Don't use someone else's account.
Retrieve Your Existing Account Information
If you've forgotton your login username and/or password, don't worry. Go to the login or register page and choose "Request New Password".
Use the login link at the top right hand corner of any page.
Once you're logged in, your experience of the site will change. Because the server now "knows" who you are, it can trust you with more information and tasks.
Navigation Menu
The big change you should see right away is that you now have a new "Navigation Menu" on the left hand side (it may be hidden on some pages, but it's there on most of them). The menu's title is your login name. That menu provides access to a lot of your new functions, which will depend on your account settings, including at least "Log out" at the end. For example, you will now be able at least to create new Forum postings by clicking on "Create content".
In addition, the Login and Register links at the top right have been replaced by "My Account" which will take you to a page that shows your account settings (login, name, history, etc.) and where you can edit some of those values with the edit tab.
